INSTRUCTIONS

SETUP

Separate the Room Cards by type and place them in their corresponding locations. Room names are meant as a guide only; for example, if you are playing in an apartment building, the Master Bedroom can be any one of many. Rooms should be spread out as much as possible.

After placing the Room Cards, select one room to double as the Gathering Room. Place the Player cards in the Gathering Room. Player cards should be face down. Ensure that the number of Family Member and Killer Cards adds to the number of people playing the game. The number of Killers in the game should be announced at the start, but their identities must be secret.

RULES
  1. Everyone's SUS is a silent game. No communication between players is allowed outside of Gatherings.

  2. Call a gathering after discovering a dead player. Players should repeat "gathering" until all guests arrive in the Gathering Room to start a gathering. Once all family members are present, a timer should be set for 45 seconds, during which speaking is allowed. Killed family members cannot speak during gatherings and should leave the game once found.

  3. At the end of every Gathering, all living Family Members vote by pointing to the player they think is the Killer.  Players can abstain from voting by pointing to the ground.  If a majority of living family members name a player the Killer, the designated player must reveal if they were the Killer and then leave the game (whether they were the Killer or not).

  4. After a Gathering ends, all players should resume the Room Card activity they were doing beforehand. Killed family members and players revealed by a vote must leave the game.

  5. Killer(s) weapons are imaginary, and all weapons can only be used to kill once. Family members should expect the Killer(s) to use their hands as an imaginary weapon to kill by way of syringe, knife, revolver, rifle, sword, axe, bat, stun gun, or monkey wrench.

  6. Killed players must remain silent and act dead until discovered, never revealing any details.

  7. In circumstances where tasks can't be completed or weapons can't be obtained, players should place the failed Room card at the bottom of the pole and take a new one.

OBJECT OF THE GAME

Family Members win by removing all Killers during Gathering votes or completing all tasks in any room. Killers win by killing all but one Family Member. Once only one Family Member remains the Killer(s) win(s).

GAMEPLAY

The game begins with each player taking a Player card from the Gathering Room without letting anyone see it and proceeding to the room designated on their card. Once in their designated start room, Players will take a Room Card and complete the Family Member or Killer task. Once they have completed their task or made a kill, they will place the completed Room card in a pile and proceed to the next room dictated by the Room card. Gameplay continues until either the Family Members of the Killer(s) accomplish their objective.

NUMBER OF PLAYERS
  • Family Members (5-20): The more family members the more fun!

  • Killers (1-3): The more killers, the harder the game will be for Family members to win; one Killer for every eight players is optimal.
